Indianapolis, IN — The Basketball League (TBL) is proud to announce its newest franchise: the ADS Sentinels, based in Converse, Texas, a basketball-rich suburb of San Antonio. This marks an exciting new chapter for the region, as Converse joins the ranks of TBL’s growing network of professional teams across North America.
A New Era of Basketball in Converse
The ADS Sentinels are owned and operated by Tim Porter, founder and CEO of Appddiction Studio, a leading software company headquartered in San Antonio. Under Porter’s leadership, the Sentinels aim to redefine professional basketball development in Texas — building a bridge from prep to pro and unlocking new pathways for aspiring athletes.
“We are thrilled to have a team in the highest ranking league under the NBA/NBAG League in North America, TBL,” said Tim Porter, Team Market Owner of the ADS Sentinels. “Our vision is to help guys fulfill their dreams of getting to the highest possible levels that their talent and work ethic will provide.”
A Community Built on Basketball
Converse, Texas, is no stranger to basketball excellence. It’s home to Judson High School, one of the most recognized names in Texas sports, and has cultivated generations of basketball talent through its competitive high school programs and community recreation leagues. With San Antonio just minutes away, the Sentinels will tap into a passionate and knowledgeable fan base eager for more local professional opportunities.
This unique mix of grassroots tradition and professional influence makes Converse the perfect home for a new TBL franchise.
Building the Future: A State-of-the-Art Facility
The ADS Sentinels are already hard at work on a state-of-the-art athletic facility that will dramatically reshape the athletic landscape of the greater San Antonio area. This new complex will serve as a training ground for elite talent, community programs, and future stars — reinforcing the Sentinels’ mission to develop players to the highest possible levels.
Ready to Compete in the Central Conference
The Sentinels will compete in TBL’s Central Conference, home to the league’s last five champions. This ensures they’ll face top-tier competition from day one, pushing the organization and its players to reach new heights.
“We are thrilled to have Tim and his amazing organization as a part of the TBL family,” said Evelyn Magley, CEO of The Basketball League. “His commitment to community, the players, facilities, and growth is closely aligned with the purpose of our league.”
Looking Ahead: Tip-Off in 2026
The ADS Sentinels will make their official debut when the TBL 2026 season tips off in late February. As TBL enters its 8th season with more than 35 teams across North America, the addition of the Sentinels represents the league’s continued growth and dedication to expanding professional basketball opportunities.
